trick or treat....

MK loved saying "tick o teat" all night. First we trick or treated at Annie and M's house and then we headed to the church for our Fall Festival. We rode the choo choo train and played games and got some more candy. She had fun seeing all her friends dressed up and if I say so myself she was the cutest bumble bee there :). Next we went to some friends for supper. We had a great Halloween and have some great pictures to prove it. Hope all you kids out there had a blast tonight. Now its time for Thanksgiving. I just love the FALL!!! Till next time....

Great Pumpkin

I was so excited yesterday when I found out that an oldie but a goodie was coming on TV last night. I kept MK up past her normal bedtime just to watch and made sure to DVR it. We sat down and I told her we were going to watch snoopy. She seemed excited and watched it very closely as she does everything. Very into TV right now! Most kids are I think. But when they got to the part where Schroeder was playing the piano at the end and Snoopy was snapping and marching to the upbeat music and then Schroeder change moods and started playing a more solemn tune and snoopy began to cry and cry and then weep. MK just teared and BOO HOOED for about 10 min and kept saying "dog cry" while tears ran down her face. I never remember thinking Charlie Brown was that intense. But she did. So that's it for the Charles Shultz cartoons until she's in the double digits. Just had to share this emotional story. MK is really growing up. Talks nonstop and her speech and language are just amazing. I know I am a Speech Therapist and bias; but she does and says some pretty impressive things for a 22 month old. Have a great rest of the week and I will post on Friday after the fall festival.
Happy Halloween!!!!

we are in....

Well, we are in the new house! Moving Day was yesterday and thanks goes out to all the strong guys who helped Rdog move the furniture. We really appreciate all of you guys!!!! Thanks to Nana Hall as well, she really did alot this past week. My windows and floors are shining and MK had a great time with her. She really likes her drum, horn , and desk. We miss you and Papaw already and thanks for the Steaks! Today was an awesome day, we decided to take a break from the house today after church we took a 2 hr nap and a went on long awaited hike with the Carpenters including Baby Anna Kate. She was a trooper all snuggled in next to her Daddy and MK was too riding on Rdog's back. We hiked 3 miles at Altoona Lake. It was a perfect Fall day, all of the leaves were such vibrant colors and the temp was perfect. We had a great time! Afterwards, Ritchie got to show off his grilling abilities on his new grill. We have waited to grill some meat for 1 yr now. We did not get to while living at the apt. But it was well worth the wait. YUM YUM! MK and Rdog got to meet Anna Kate tonight and MK was such a good girl with her she was very gentle. Can't wait to see them running around the back yard next Fall. Need to hit the hay.... I will post some pics of our hike down below

I've been tagged....

I have been tagged by Kathy Storm...
The rules are: share 7 random/weird facts about yourself and tag 7 random people
Here it goes..... oh by the way try not to laugh to hard

1. I received an "I" in 3rd grade in Reading. My cousin Marc still jawns on me for that and doesn't understand how I got my degree from USM with that on my record. But I don't remember why I received a mark for incomplete that year. Oh well. My reading abilities are pretty normal now. :)
2. I kissed Ritchie first. I know, pretty forward huh, but couldn't resist. We will celebrate our first kiss this coming Dec. It has been 14 years. Sure am glad I was a rebel that night.
3. I talk to my grandmother probably 5 times a week every week for the past 15 years. She will be 92 next month and is healthy as horse. I love her dearly.
4. Doesn't watch TV anymore. Except sometimes on vacation or During American Idol Season.
5. Wanted to be a pharmacist before deciding to work with children with special needs.
6. Won a ribbon at a P.E. meet one year in middle school for the distant jumping event. HA!
7. Was 1st runner up and won Physical Fitness and Beauty/Presence and Composure in Meridian, MS Junior Miss in 1992.

I have tagged TRP, LORI WEB, MISS ABBY, HONEY Simpkins, Lindsey, Miss Henry, and Bridge

what a great time had by all....

well we survived the fast and furious weekend in Mississippi. We got to visit with Papa Lloyd and my sister and her family and mk's great-grandparents. We were able to fit in a short visit with Aunt Sandra and Miss Abby. MK really had fun!!! She put on a show for Abby and Sandra. We celebrated my niece Jordan's 2nd bday at the pumpkin patch. It was so much fun. MK got to paint a pumpkin, ride the train, go on her 1st hayride, and eat a lot of sugar!!! She had a blast! Her favorite part of the whole weekend besides playing with her cousins of course was riding Papa's Buggie. She and Papa and RLH went off road in the Bad Boy Buggie!!! :) MK is such a tomboy! she loves to be outside getting dirty. UNfortunately we did not get to see Gigi and Ppop they were both very sick with flu-like symptoms. We missed them both. Hope yall feel better soon.

We are back home now and painting and unpacking. Nana Hall is here this week to help out. She and I got a lot done today. Thanks Nana and thanks Papaw for letting her leave you for a week to come to GA. She is a lot of help.

Hope everyone is having a great Fall! We are! I need to go to bed now it is after midnight here. I have a lot to do in the new house again tomorrow. I posted some photos from this past weekend Enjoy~

headed West...

Well, we are headed west tomorrow to Mississippi. We are so excited about visiting with all of MK's grandparents and some close friends who we haven't seen in awhile and my two special nieces Jordan and Jillian. Oh I can't wait to give them the biggest hugs and kisses. We will be going to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday for Jordan's 2nd bday. MK is going to love it; especially the hay and train ride. My grandparents will be there and our God children whom we dearly miss. It will be a fast and furious trip as always, but that's what happens when you live 4.5 hrs away and only 3 days to see everybody you love. We will be back Monday evening. Please keep us in your prayers. Can't wait to share all of the wonderful memories we make over the weekend through words and pictures when we return home. Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll post on Tuesday.

I just love surprises!

I got a phone call today from a friend that I've known about 7 yrs whom I met in Meridian. She and her husband and girls have always had a special place in our hearts. We ended up meeting for dinner near Atlanta and had great food and fellowship. Her girls were all grown up and so pretty. MK loved playing with them as well. Friends in Christ never change and the reunions are always awesome. GOD is good! I praise Him for such neat people like the Pattersons. I've shared a few pics from our night out.
Till next time...

a successful day....

whew.... I am so pooped, but got lots accomplished. Ritchie is still painting away and I unpacked tons of boxes, cleaned bathrooms, cabinets, etc. Got my kitchen 90% finished and MK's room 90% finished. The colors we chose are looking good. RLH is the best painter. Thanks to him, it's looking like "home". Love you Rdog.
MK is adjusting well as usual. She is feeling so much better, almost back to normal, no more blisters as of today and eating and drinking normally again. Praise God for my healthy girl! We are spending our first night in our new home tonight. WOO HOO! Still no furniture, just beds. We couldn't wait any longer! TV, Beds, Food, is all you need when you're camping out. HA!
I can't express to you just how happy we are to finally have a house! MK , Bella, and I played in the yard today and it was just perfect. Everything I imagined it would be when I was dreaming about playing with my girl when she was a busy toddler running around everywhere. She and Bella chased crickets and MK threw rocks as she shouted "catch BEBBA catch". Ha! :)
It was great! Headed to church in the morning by myself, RLH is staying home with MK one more Sunday just to make sure we aren't contagious anymore. Need to get in bed....will post some pics soon

a song for our little girl....

I was working hard today, planning MK's 2nd bday party , ordering invitations and Bday DVD and came across this song and plugged it into my playlist and had to share the lyrics with all you mommies and daddies out there who have been blessed by our Gracious God to be parents. I pray for those out there too that are desiring and praying for children. May God Bless Your Family. Scroll down and listen as you read the lyrics. Enjoy. Love in Christ , Kelly
"I was never alive Until the day I was blessed with you When I hold you late at nightI know what I was put here to do I turn off the world And listen to you sigh And I will sing my angel's lullaby Know I'm forever near The one you can always call Right now all you know to fear Are the shadows on your wall And I'm here close enough To kiss the tears you cry And I will sing my angel's lullaby So tell me how to stop the years from racing Is there a secret someone knowsI'll never catch all the memories I'm chasing I'll never be ready to let go And when the world seems cold You feel that all of your strength is gone There may be one tiny voice Your reason to carry on And when I'm not close enoughTo kiss the tears you cry You will sing your angel's lullaby Let this be our angel's lullaby"

Just had to shout it from the roof top....

MK slept 11 hrs (12 hrs is pretty normal for her) in her own bed and woke up with a smile and asking for milk and something to eat. Hasn't felt like eating with all these blisters in her mouth and on her throat. They are drying up on her lips and bottom. Thank You God!!!!
Just had to tell you how happy and relieved we are here in the Hall Household. Thanks for all those prayers for my angel.

Totally Exhausted....

Sorry I haven't posted any news or pics lately. I am exhausted. Monday we closed on our house woo hoo! Ritchie has moved a pretty good bit over to the new house. He has 2 rooms painted MK's and the kitchen/breakfast room. He will paint halls and living room this week. I haven't been much help at all because MK has been sick since Wednesday. She has Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease. It showed up on Wednesday, takes about 3 days to show up so we must of contracted it from playing in the church nursery??? Who really knows , but weren't around any children the week before or since???

For those of you not familiar with the terrible childhood sickness; here is a brief description from the CDC.
Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common viral illness of infants and children. The disease causes fever and blister-like eruptions in the mouth and/or a skin rash
The disease usually begins with a fever, poor appetite, malaise (feeling vaguely unwell), and often with a sore throat.
One or 2 days after fever onset, painful sores usually develop in the mouth. They begin as small red spots that blister and then often become ulcers. The sores are usually located on the tongue, gums, and inside of the cheeks.
A non-itchy skin rash develops over 1–2 days. The rash has flat or raised red spots, sometimes with blisters. The rash is usually located on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet; it may also appear on the buttocks and/or genitalia.
A person with HFMD may have only the rash or only the mouth sores.
Infection is spread from person to person by direct contact with infectious virus. Infectious virus is found in the nose and throat secretions, saliva, blister fluid, and stool of infected persons. The virus is most often spread by persons with unwashed, virus-contaminated hands and by contact with virus-contaminated surfaces.
Infected persons are most contagious during the first week of the illness.
The viruses that cause HFMD can remain in the body for weeks after a patient's symptoms have gone away. This means that the infected person can still pass the infection to other people even though he/she appears well. Also, some persons who are infected and excreting the virus, including most adults, may have no symptoms.

HFMD is not transmitted to or from pets or other animals.
AND THE WORST PART OF IT IS:
There is no specific treatment for HFMD.

Symptoms can be treated to provide relief from pain from mouth sores and from fever and aches:

Fever can be treated with antipyretics (drugs that reduce fevers).

Pain can be treated with acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or other over-the-counter pain relievers.

Mouthwashes or sprays that numb pain can be used to lessen mouth pain.

Fluid intake should be enough to prevent dehydration (lack of body fluids). If moderate-to-severe dehydration develops, it can be treated medically by giving fluids through the veins.

OK
Enough Biology but you gotta admit that was interesting. Needless to say MK was in alot of pain (her bottom, throat, lips and especially sides of her mouth) she would say" mommy mommy my teef hurt"
My heart has never hurt so bad this week not being able to really help my angel.
She ran 101-103 fever for 3 days Saturday was the first day with no fever and she did not sleep well at all or in her own bed since Wednesday either. Today she finally slept, she took at 3.5 hour nap at 9 this morning and she is now been asleep in her own bed for 30 minutes now! PRAISE GOD! I am going to sleep so much better tonight not having her on top of me and not having to worry so much either. It is so exhausting having a sick child. I am going to thank GOD every night here on out for blessing Ritchie and I with a healthy child. I know we take so much for granted. I can't imagine the hardships some parents must go through; I pray that GOD will grant those Parents strength.
We spent all weekend during the day at our new house while RLH painted. We watched movies and played some outside when she felt like it. I will post some pics below .
Happy October Everyone! We put up a scarecrow in the yard this weekend and hope to buy a pumpkin this week. Have a great week everyone and I will be back sooner this week.
Love, Kelly
