Scripture for the week...

As I have mentioned in an earlier post, I am doing the Experiencing God study by Henry Blackaby. Each week he encourages his readers to memorize a new scripture. I am going to try and post the new scripture every Monday so we can learn them together.

Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
Matthew 22:37-38

our weekend...

our weekend had a great start-I had the day off!!! First I went to my Experiencing God Bible study, then to get my hair done (which is always so relaxing), then I had some errands to run. Afterwards AMC and I took dinner to some friends who just had a baby. We had a great time visiting and holding their precious son. Later that night AMC and I had a girls nite out! WOOHOO-dinner and a movie. We went to see Bride Wars. It was really cute and funny. Nothing like a good chick flick with a good chick :) cluck cluck
Saturday we were pretty lazy most of the morning. Ritchie finished painting the stairway and doing some touch ups on the molding in our bathroom. We only have to paint the shutters and front door now. Thank goodness. RLH has really done a great job painting every inch of our new home. I can't believe we have almost been here 4mo next week. WOW time flies. Sat. afternoon MK and I went to a fun circus bday party. Our friend Harper Cole was the big #1. She and I both had a great time.
That night we rec'd some sad news that a friend of our families little girl was sick. Please be in prayer for Harper Anne Miller. She is one week old and has a pinched aorta and hole between her left and rt ventricles. She will be undergoing heart surgery on Wednesday and then will have to have Open Heart surgery sometime over the next 3 mo. Please be in prayer for the Dr. and nurses at UAB children's hosp. as well.
Sunday we went to church and it was an extra great service that morn and evening. I am ready to take on a new week. I will post some pics today and I hope you all have a great week.
We are getting excited about my sister and her family coming to visit this weekend. MK can't stop talking about Jordi as she calls her ( my neice Jordan)coming to play with her in her new playroom. we are soooo excited:)
till next time...

visit with Papa...

nice visit

My Dad came over this past weekend and we had a really nice visit. He and MK had lots of fun playing in her playhouse, tent, and especially playing hide -n-go seek. We really enjoyed his visit.
We hope he can come back this summer for Father's Day. He stays pretty busy with work. I am hoping he retires soon so he can visit more often. It was sooo cold here this past weekend and as I type we are getting some snow flurries right now. Hope they stick!
Ritchie and I are doing Experiencing God at our church this year; we did it about 7 years ago and are really enjoying it again. We are not in the same class so its kinda neat talking about the different stories everyone shares. His is on Wednesday nights and mine is on Friday mornings. I can't wait to read day 3 tonight. As I do this study, my prayer is that I become more focused on God's Will and meditate on this scripture Some trust in Chariots and some in horses; but we trust in the name of the Lord our God Psalm 20:7
Have a great week and remember to be in prayer for our new President and our Country. Let's pray together that B.O. will do God's Will.
Till next time....

Just wanted to share one my favorite books
I heard Barbara and Denise speak back in
Sept at a Retreat in GA.
It's worth reading
enjoy, Kelly

HE is really trying to get HIS point across

God spoke clearly again last night re: what our pastor spoke about on Sunday night. I was reading one of my now favorites Faith Pointes ..Essential Truths for Living the Christian Life by Barbara B. Barker & Denise Hamilton....and guess what the chapter was titled-You are essential in the Body of Christ. I wanted to share some of it's valuable truths with you today.
"Scripture tells us that that as each Christian fulfills his or her responsibility in the Body, lovingly coordinating with each other, the Church will be strengthened and will grow".
Ephesians 4:16 tell us "FROM HIM (CHRIST, THE HEAD OF THE BODY)THE WHOLE BODY, JOINED AND HELD TOGETHER BY EVERY SUPPORTING LIGAMENT, GROWS AND BUILDS ITSELF UP IN LOVE, AS EACH PART DOES ITS WORK"
Each of us were made with our combination of natural talents and abilities. Our paths in life also give us skills, experience and training. No two of us are alike; we all are unique blends of these natural and spiritual gifts.
"The Church will only function as it was intended when each believer takes the place in the Body for which he or she was particularly designed. God requires that we should be faithful stewards of the gifts and resources He has entrusted to us".
"NOW IT IS REQUIRED THAT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN GIVEN A TRUST MUST PROVE FAITHFUL"(I Corinthians 4:2)

My prayer last night was asking God to give me opportunities to serve and that I would have the right attitude and motivation-all for the Glory of God.

I am also Praising Him today for the birth of Kaleb Aaron...congrats to my friend Lorinda.
Gotta go cook some chili...my favorite when it is cold

refine me....give me the desire to serve more

It's Monday morning and I have already been cleaning, doing laundry , and my favorite playing with my girl. She is down for a nap now and before she wakes I wanted to reflect on last night's message from Isaiah 7. It's a new year and our pastor is challenging us as Christians to be 1st OBEDIENT & 2nd SERVE HIM...plug into some form of ministry to further HIS Kingdom. It was a great message! Really been on my heart today and when I decided to post my reflections on my blog-Jennifer Knapp's song Refine Me was playing on my jukebox(blog songs). You should listen to it -it's great. The words are so awesome I just have to share some of them...
I come into this place Burning to receive your peace
I come with my own chains
From wars I've fought for my own selfish gain
You're my God and my Father
I've accepted your Son
But my soul feels so empty now
What have I become?
Lord, come with your fire,Burn my desires; refine me Lord, my will has deceived me Please come and free me Refine me
My heart can't see
When I only look at me
My soul can't hear
When I only think of my own fears
They are gone in a moment
You're forever the same
Why did I look away from You
How can I speak Your name?
Lord, come with Your fire, burn my desires; refine me Lord, my will has deceived me Please come and free me
Come rescue this child For I long to be reconciled to You
It's all I can do To give my heart and soul to You
And pray, and pray, oh I will pray Lord,
come with Your fire, burn my desires; refine me Lord, my will has deceived me Please come and free me Come rescue this child For I long to be reconciled to You Refine me, refine me Refine me, refine me

WHAT AWESOME WORDS
My prayer this year will be to be more like Isaiah.... to say to my GOD... "Here am I. Send me!

Till next time, KSH

Friday night Fun....

We had a fun time tonight...drove north to Rome Ga and let MK ride the Carousel and then went downtown to this quaint little restaurant.... Harvest Moon Cafe. Great food and atmosphere. MK loved riding the bunny best of all and kept saying "up , down, up , down," She really enjoyed her catfish fingers at HMC too. We had a great start to our weekend. Tomorrow won't be so fun-time to clean up our Sanford and Son Garage. Lots of boxes, junk, paint cans, etc. Oh well it's supposed to rain here so I won't feel like I am missing out on too much. We also got to visit with my cousin Misti from ATL today and her twin boys...MK kept calling them her friends. She would say "fends come upstairs and pay with me" they had lots of fun playing together. Have a good night!

We had our 2 yr checkup this morning at our favorite Dr. Doc Doc Pammy as Mia Katheryn calls her. She was healthy as a horse....27lbs,35" ...she was in the 75 percentile. I was so happy she was well finally. She is right on track physically and developmentally for her age. Afterwards we had our first ballet lesson. When we got home she was so tired she took a good nap and now she and I are upstairs playing in her playroom she is still in her leotard :0 she loves it...and she is singing happy birthday to her Birthday Curious George Doll her Aunt Jessica gave her. She has the biggest imagination. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Happy New Year!! What a wonderful time I had with my hubby. It started midday Wednesday with a massage and pedicure down in Buckhead and then I met RLH at the Embassy Suites. We spent lots of quality time together...first a great 1hr workout in the fitness center and then a delicious dinner and dessert at Ruth's Chris. The food and atmosphere were wonderful. Then we watched the most awesome movie... Fire Proof... what a great movie to start off a new year. I hope and pray our 10th yr of marriage 2009 is our best yet! We got to sleep late and then we had breakfast in bed and off to Lenox Square. We shopped at Macy's and Bloomingdale's. It was so nice just spending time together and then off to eat Tex Mex and home to our sweet daughter. MK was so excited to see us! We missed her too. Thanks Gigi and Ppop for taking care of her. We enjoyed your visit as well. We hope everyone has a great weekend and Prosperous and Healthy New Year.
